Welcome to the new Vatican Mobile Post Office, where you can now “send and receive God’s announcements” in a unique and sacred setting. The post office was officially opened on December 19th in St. Peter’s Square with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Cardinal Vérgez Alzaga, along with Giuseppe Lasco, Director of Poste Italiane, and Sister Raffaella Petrini, Secretary General of the Governorate, were present for the inauguration of this special office. This mobile post office, donated by Poste Italiane, aims to provide exclusive postal and philatelic products to pilgrims and visitors.
But this office is not just a place for postal services, it is a sacred space where you can truly connect with God’s messages. The President of the Governorate blessed the office and sprinkled holy water inside, marking it as a place of divine communication.
Reflecting on the Annunciation in the Gospels, Cardinal Alzaga emphasized the importance of communication and communion in this space. Just like the angel Gabriel reached out to Mary in Nazareth, this office is open to all who seek spiritual connection.
Located on the left side of St. Peter’s Square, this sustainable office is made of low environmental impact materials, including wood. It replaces the previous office and offers not only traditional postal services but also a space dedicated to the study of postage stamps and postal history.
Come and experience a new way to connect with God’s messages at the Vatican Mobile Post Office. It’s more than just a place to send mail – it’s a sanctuary of communication and communion.
