Dear brother bishops,
Dear formators and seminarians of the Apóstol Santiago Interdiocesan Major Seminary.
Welcome, pilgrims of faith! As you journey from the footsteps of Saint James in Spain to the heart of Rome, may you find inspiration and renewal in the path of the apostles.
Since September, you have embarked on a new chapter as an “Interdiocesan” Seminary, uniting the dioceses of Santiago de Compostela, Tui-Vigo, and Mondoñedo-Ferrol. Your commitment and unity are commendable, and I urge you to continue with courage and hope.
Just as a pilgrimage involves a journey of self-discovery and growth, your formation as future priests is a transformative process. Embrace the call to shepherd God’s people with humility and mercy, following the example of Christ’s Heart.
Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Open your hearts to the Lord and allow Him to guide and shape your lives. Along the way, you will encounter diverse individuals, each with their own struggles and needs. Be a beacon of hope and compassion, sharing the joy of the Gospel with all you meet.
As we approach the Holy Year 2025, let us continue walking together as pilgrims of hope, towards our heavenly homeland. May the blessings of Jesus and the protection of the Holy Virgin be with you always.
And when you return, please remember to pray for me through the intercession of Saint James the Apostle. Thank you and God bless.
