Restoring stability and democratic institutions
The President of the Chadian Bishops’ Conference highlighted the challenging socio-political context in which the assembly is taking place, amidst floods, terrorist attacks, and other crises facing the country. Archbishop Djitangar also addressed the upcoming elections in Chad, emphasizing the importance of dialogue and the need to prioritize the common national interest.
The Prophetic Voice of Chadian Bishops
Archbishop Djitangar spoke passionately about the prophetic role entrusted to the Bishops, urging them not to be mere spectators but to actively work towards saving what can be saved in the face of challenges. He emphasized the duty of pastors to enlighten the conscience of citizens and continue their courageous commitment.
Openness and availability to the Holy Spirit
Throughout the assembly, the Bishops will carefully study reports and files submitted by their collaborators, guided by prayerful listening and openness to the Holy Spirit. Archbishop Djitangar emphasized the importance of seeking guidance from the Spirit of God to lead the Church in Chad.
