Welcome to the exciting third edition of the International Seminar of Guadalupe happening on December 14. This event, organized by the Academy of Catholic Leaders with the backing of over 12 prominent Catholic institutions worldwide, has become a crucial platform for contemplating the mystery of Guadalupe and its relevance in today’s world.
Being a part of the Novena of Guadalupe
Aligned with the Intercontinental Novena of Guadalupe initiated by Pope Francis in 2022, this seminar marks the journey towards the 2031 jubilee. The upcoming jubilee commemorates the 500th anniversary of the appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a significant spiritual and cultural event for the Church and the Americas.
2024 Theme: “Only from our Mother, can we recognize ourselves as brothers”
This year’s theme focuses on exploring the historical, spiritual, and social impact of the Guadalupe phenomenon, providing a platform for diverse perspectives to engage in enriching dialogue under the protection of the Morenita del Tepeyac.
Messages from the General Director
José Antonio Rosas, the General Director of the Academy of Catholic Leaders, highlights the significance of this event:
“As an academy, we heed Pope Francis’ call to pave the way for the 2031 Jubilee. Year after year, we provide this global platform to delve into the mysteries of Our Lady of Guadalupe, who, as Mother and Queen, watches over all her children. This initiative also aligns with our training program, Generation Guadalupe 2031, aimed at preparing a new generation of Catholics to address the political, social, and economic challenges of our region under the guidance of the Morenita.”
A Collaborative Endeavor
This seminar is the result of a joint effort involving various Catholic institutions, including the Episcopal Conferences of Mexico and the United States, the Pontifical Commission for Latin America, religious media, educational institutions, and lay and consecrated communities.
