The Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Spain has embraced the recent doctrinal note by the country’s bishops regarding practices of “intergenerational healing” that do not align with the teachings of the Catholic Church.
In a statement published on its website, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Spain expressed gratitude for the document approved by the Spanish Bishops’ Conference and committed to following it with obedience and agreement.
The movement affirmed its dedication to ensuring that the guidelines outlined in the document are adhered to within its association.
The organization emphasized the importance of the bishops’ document, titled “His Mercy Extends from Generation to Generation,” in clarifying concepts and potential risks associated with certain practices, as well as highlighting areas where implementation may conflict with Church teachings.
It is hoped that the bishops’ guidance will help identify and correct any practices that deviate from tradition and the magisterium of the Church, ultimately preventing harm to the faithful.
Signed by national coordinator Víctor Gregorio Arellano and national spiritual adviser Father Francisco Javier Ramírez de Nicolás, a priest of the Diocese of Osma-Soria, the statement from the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Spain reaffirms the organization’s commitment to upholding the teachings of the Church.
Established as a private association of the faithful with statutes approved by the Spanish Bishops’ Conference in 2004 and later modified in 2011, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Spain continues to be a beacon of spiritual guidance and adherence to Catholic doctrine.
