Over four thousand attendees gathered at the Salone delle Fontane in Eur for the sixth edition of Panettone Maximo, despite the “ecological Sunday,” once again declaring the success of the event focused on the beloved Italian Christmas cakes in the capital.
The Salone delle Fontane hosted the sixth edition of Panettone Maximo on December 1st, the national festival of artisanal panettone that crowned the best Italian leavened cakes. The event saw the participation of thousands of enthusiasts and a jury of exceptional pastry chefs ready to determine the winners of this highly anticipated competition.
Taking the title for “best traditional panettone” was Solodamanduca from Aprilia (LT), while the award for “best chocolate panettone” went, for the second consecutive year, to Vizio from Rome. A new addition this year was the prize for the “best gourmet panettone,” which was awarded to Gianfranco Pascucci.
An esteemed jury, comprised of internationally renowned pastry chefs like Gino Fabbri and Massimo Chierico, evaluated the competing panettones based on quality, taste, and originality. Among the judges were also enogastronomic critics and representatives of the foreign press, highlighting the event’s international prestige.
The event, organized by E20 Events Factory and Ristoragency, was supported by the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Rome, as well as important partners like Banca del Fucino and Agrimontana.
Panettone Maximo was not just a competition among master pastry chefs but also a true tasting event, with numerous sampling stations and related activities. Many celebrities were in attendance, including Valentina Vignali, Giulia Neccia, and several influencers, who added to the festive atmosphere.
With this edition, Panettone Maximo solidifies its position as one of the most significant events in the Italian gastronomic scene, celebrating the tradition and innovation of artisanal panettone.
