Rome is set to become more beautiful and livable with the construction project at Piazza Pia. This initiative will benefit the entire area and enhance the passage between Castel Sant’Angelo and the Vatican. However, Monsignor Fisichella emphasized the need to address the degradation in the surrounding side streets due to the continuous influx of tourists.
Monsignor Rino Fisichella, the prefect of the Dicastery for the Evangelization, shared insights during a joint hearing of the Jubilee and Tourism commissions, led by councilors Dario Danni and Mariano Angelucci. He mentioned, “We have been preparing for the Jubilee since 2022. Gradually, with various stakeholders, we are working towards making the city more beautiful and livable amidst the numerous construction sites in Rome.”
