Pope Francis has made an inspiring call for dioceses worldwide to celebrate their “saints next door” every year on November 9th.
In a letter released by the Vatican in Italian on Saturday, the pope announced an annual tribute to saints, blesseds, venerables, and servants of God in local dioceses globally, starting with the upcoming jubilee.
“I urge individual Churches to remember and honor these embodiments of holiness each year, starting from the 2025 Jubilee,” Pope Francis stated.
This initiative is designed to help Catholics worldwide reconnect with and preserve the legacy of these exceptional followers of Christ who have borne witness to the risen Lord and continue to inspire the faithful in their dioceses today.
He signed the letter at St. John Lateran on Nov. 9th.
