Welcome to a new liturgical year! As we enter the season of Advent, Fr. Jorge Miró shares his reflections on the Gospel for this Sunday, December 1, 2024, titled “Your liberation is near.”
Advent is a precious gift from the Lord, a time when we are reminded that we are not alone. It is a time of joyful hope as we await the coming of Christ the Savior in both his humble birth and glorious return.
Despite the challenges of life, we can hold on to hope, knowing that God is faithful and His love for us is unwavering. Our existence is not a coincidence; we are created by God to share in a story of love and salvation.
The Word invites us to have three attitudes towards hope and welcoming God’s salvation:
Living in hope means trusting in the Lord and His promises, even when things seem bleak. God’s salvation is often found in the small, humble, and simple aspects of life.
As we journey through Advent, let us follow the example of Mary, who guides us with her unwavering faith. Jesus calls us to be vigilant and to strive for holiness, allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives.
Let us approach this season with humility, intensifying our prayer, listening to the Word of God, and participating in the sacraments. By preparing our hearts, we invite the Lord to dwell within us.
Are you ready to embrace this opportunity for spiritual renewal? Stay vigilant and open to the grace of God. Come, Holy Spirit!
