Exciting News: Frecce Tricolori Jets to Soar Over Rome on 4 November
Get ready for a thrilling display in the skies of Rome on 4 November as Italy’s president, Sergio Mattarella, attends a special ceremony at Altare della Patria to commemorate national unity and honor the armed forces at 09:00.
This significant date coincides with the anniversary of the armistice of Villa Giusti in 1918, marking the end of World War I on the Italian front.
President Mattarella will pay respects to Italy’s war heroes and victims of international peacekeeping missions by laying a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Piazza Venezia.
One of the highlights of the event will be a breathtaking flypast by the Italian air force’s iconic Frecce Tricolori jets, leaving trails of the three colors of the Italian flag in the sky.
Expect street closures, parking restrictions, and traffic disruptions in the vicinity of Piazza Venezia due to the event. Stay informed by checking the city’s mobility website beforehand.
After the ceremony, President Mattarella will head to Venice for a military event at midday to celebrate the national day.

A parallel military event will also take place at Circus Maximus in Rome from 1 November to 4 November.
Last year, due to security concerns related to the Middle East crisis, a similar event at the historic Roman site was canceled.
Notably, last year, it was announced that efforts are underway to reinstate the National Unity and Armed Forces Day as a public holiday, a tradition that started in 1919 but stopped being a public holiday in 1977.
For the second year in a row, Italy will celebrate this day by opening its state-run museums and archaeological sites for free.
