Welcome to “You Are Right. Milano for the Rights of Children, Girls, and Adolescents” Festival!
Get ready for an exciting week ahead as Milan gears up to host a unique festival that aims to explore the rights of children and adolescents through a series of interactive and youth-friendly events. From October 22 to 26, various parts of the Italian city will come alive with discussions, performances, tournaments, and more, all focused on the well-being of our youngest generation.
The festival, titled “You Are Right. Milano for the Rights of Children, Girls, and Adolescents,” is the first of its kind and is being organized by Terre des Hommes in collaboration with the Guarantor for the Rights of Children and Adolescents of the Municipality of Milan.
Highlights of the Festival
Kickstarting the event on Tuesday, the Riccardo Catella Foundation will set the tone by emphasizing the role of businesses and the potential of artificial intelligence in shaping a sustainable future for our youth. The importance of sustainability, education, and social inclusion will take center stage in discussions and activities throughout the week.
Wednesday will see a focus on rights and youth participation, with a special meeting titled “Fragility and Youth Poverty: The Commitment of the Benemeriti and the Example of the Spazio Indifesa Hub in Milan.” Esteemed guests like Silvio Premoli and Riccardo Bettiga will share insights on enhancing youth participation.
Thursday’s agenda is dedicated to addressing child abuse and effective ways to combat it. The former Manifattura Tabacchi will host discussions on this important topic, along with exploring avenues for increased youth engagement.
As we approach Friday, mental health takes the spotlight, shedding light on issues like social withdrawal and challenges faced by young people in the digital age. A powerful theatrical performance titled “Nella Rete” will tackle bullying and cyberbullying at the Munari Theatre.
The festival draws to a close on October 26 with a day of celebration at MUSA, the university museum of anthropological, medical, and forensic sciences. Participants can look forward to art therapy workshops and the Peace Tournament, promoting sport as a vehicle for peace, inclusion, and combating organized crime.
