Pope Francis’ Liturgical Celebrations: A Schedule Worth Noting
If you’re a devout follower of Pope Francis or simply looking to attend one of his Masses, you’re in luck! The Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Supreme Pontiff has released the schedule for the upcoming period from November to mid-December.
During this time, Pope Francis will be presiding at five Masses, each with its own significance and theme.
Starting off on November 4, the Holy Father will lead a Mass in suffrage for deceased Cardinals and Bishops who passed away during the year, at 11 AM in St. Peter’s Basilica.
On November 17, there will be a special Mass for the Eighth World Day of the Poor with the theme “The prayer of the poor rises up to God”, at 10 AM in St. Peter’s Basilica.
As we approach the end of November, on the 24th, Pope Francis will celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, with a special World Youth Day at the diocesan level and Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Peter’s Basilica.
Moving on to December, there are two significant celebrations. The first is on December 7 for the creation of new Cardinals at 4 PM in St. Peter’s Basilica, followed by the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on December 8 at 9:30 AM.
On December 12, for the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pope Francis will once again grace St. Peter’s Basilica with Mass at 6 PM.
