Today, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church was received by Pope Francis as part of the Synod meetings in which he is participating as a member. “I wanted to inform the Holy Father about the disaster of the war and the challenges ahead as winter approaches.” Regarding the audience with President Zelensky: “For our president, the Pope is a global moral authority.” A plea to the international community: “Almost 6 million people will be without food and shelter in the coming months, we ask for your solidarity.”
