Exciting news from Brussels! Following the evaluation on potential conflicts of interest of the designated commissioners, the Legal Affairs Committee of the European Parliament has approved the hearings of all 26 candidates. This announcement was made by the committee via X.
The hearing for Italy’s designated Executive Vice President for the European Commission, Raffaele Fitto, is scheduled for November 12th, according to parliamentary sources.
The Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament approved the schedule for the hearings on Thursday morning, which will see all candidates for the Executive Vice President of the Commission being heard on the same day, Tuesday, November 12th. The socialist candidate Teresa Ribera and the popular Henna Virkkunen will be the last to be heard.

EU, Italy’s Psb will be evaluated in 6 weeks
The European Commission will have six weeks for its evaluation of Italy’s Psb, which “may be extended further”. There is no confirmation that the document approved by Parliament has reached Brussels. “We have agreed with Italy that it can be submitted by October 15th,” she said.
