Welcome back to my blog, where we discuss all things related to Pope Francis and his recent Apostolic Journey to Belgium and Luxembourg. As Pope Francis wraps up his 46th Apostolic Journey abroad, it’s time to reflect on the impact of his visit to these European nations.
After spending time in Belgium’s capital of Brussels, Pope Francis is now on his way back to Rome. The Brussels Airlines flight carrying the Holy Father and the accompanying journalists took off from Melsbroek Air Base and is expected to land at Rome’s International Fiumicino Airport shortly.
Prior to his departure, Pope Francis was given a warm send-off by local authorities and participated in a farewell ceremony at the Base. Earlier in the day, he celebrated Mass at Brussels’ King Baudouin Stadium, where he also recited the midday Angelus prayer with the Belgian faithful.
In his remarks, Pope Francis expressed deep concern over the conflict in the Middle East and called for an immediate ceasefire. This plea highlights the Pope’s commitment to peace and diplomacy in the region.
This recent journey marks Pope Francis’ second Apostolic Journey this month, following his visit to Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore. It’s clear that the Pope’s tireless efforts to promote peace and unity resonate with people around the world.
As we bid farewell to Pope Francis’ visit to Belgium and Luxembourg, let’s reflect on the messages of hope, peace, and compassion that he shared with the faithful during his time in these European nations.
