U.S. Monitoring Israel’s Total War Against Hezbollah or Iran, Emphasizing Unwavering Support and Diplomacy
“A total war with Hezbollah or Iran is not the way to bring people back to their homes in northern Israel safely,” said U.S. National Security spokesperson John Kirby to CNN.
“The United States’ support for Israel’s security is unwavering and will not change,” Kirby added, reaffirming the ally’s right to defend itself from “daily attacks” while emphasizing the need not to target civilians and their homes. “Biden and Netanyahu have known each other for 40 years and may never agree on anything, but they agree on one thing: Israel’s security,” he added. “President Joe Biden continues to believe that there is space and time for diplomacy, we continue to talk to the Israelis about what the right next steps are in Lebanon,” Kirby reiterated.
