Welcome to Italy’s European Heritage Days!
Celebrate the rich cultural history of Italy with a nationwide programme of events for the 2024 edition of European Heritage Days on the weekend of 28-29 September.
This year’s theme, Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections, promises special tours of museums, galleries, libraries, and archaeological sites, offering a unique glimpse into Italy’s past.
On 28 September, many heritage sites will extend their hours and offer entry for just €1, making it the perfect opportunity to explore some hidden gems.
One of the highlights in Rome includes evening visits to the Basilica of Sant’Agostino, the Mausoleum of Sant’Elena, the underground basilica at Porta Maggiore, and guided tours of Sant’Ivo alla Sapienza.
Since 1991, the European Heritage Days initiative has brought Europeans together to celebrate their shared cultural heritage, and this year promises to be no different.
For more information and a detailed list of events, visit the Italian culture ministry website and the European Heritage Days website.
Don’t miss this opportunity to immerse yourself in Italy’s rich history and heritage!
