After concluding his visit to East Timor, Pope Francis departed from the “Presidente Nicolau Lobato” International Airport in Dili, bound for Singapore on Wednesday, September 11 at 12:25 local time.
As part of his customary practice during apostolic journeys, Francis sent a telegram to the President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta, expressing gratitude for the warm welcome received from the local authorities and citizens. He also offered prayers for peace and solidarity in Timor.
Before leaving, the Pope engaged with over three thousand young people at the Dili Convention Center, discussing the values of freedom, commitment, and fraternity, encouraging them to use their freedom to help others. Timor, with a predominantly Catholic population of over 95%, welcomed the Successor of Peter for three days.

Approximately 600,000 people attended the papal mass at the Taci Tolu esplanade, showcasing the immense support and respect for Pope Francis during his visit.
Now in Singapore, the Pope will meet with Jesuit brothers serving in the nation and hold various engagements with authorities, civil society, and the diplomatic corps. The visit will culminate with a Holy Mass at the National Stadium of the Singapore Sports Hub.
