Experience the Grape Harvest at Rome’s Botanic Garden
Celebrate the timeless tradition of grape harvesting at Rome’s Botanic Gardens during the ‘Vendemmiata Romana’ event from 14-15 September.
This two-day extravaganza will immerse you in the enchanting world of wine, vineyards, grapes, and winemakers. Enjoy a series of engaging workshops, seminars, and demonstrations suitable for guests of all ages.
Discover and savor the fruits of over 150 native Italian vines planted in the Italian vineyard back in 2018. Selected producers will be on hand to offer you delightful wine tastings throughout the event.
While the grape harvest is considered “symbolic” due to the small quantity of grapes involved, the essence of the ancient Roman Vinalia rustica – which was celebrated on 19 August in preparation for the harvest and grape-pressing – will be brought to life.
The 2024 program includes themed workshops for both adults and children, folk dance performances, guided tours, and of course, wine tastings. Additionally, indulge in delicious street food offerings (not included in the €10 entrance ticket).
