Second Session of the Synod of Bishops
On 2nd October, amidst the presence of the Guardian Angels, the Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops will kick off at 9:30 am in the grand setting of St. Peter’s Square. Over the next three and a half weeks, participants will engage in deep reflections based on the Instrumentum laboris, sharing insights and discernments that will eventually be presented to Pope Francis. The sessions will culminate on 27th October with a solemn Eucharistic celebration at St. Peter’s Basilica at 10 am.
Jesuit Fr. Giacomo Costa, a special secretary of the Assembly, highlights the importance of these discussions in shaping the future of the Church under the guidance of Pope Francis.
Canonization of Blesseds
Amidst the Synod proceedings, a special Mass will be held on 20th October in St Peter’s Square for the canonization of Blessed Manuel Ruiz López, seven companions of the Order of Friars Minor, as well as Blesseds Francis, Mooti, and Raphael Massabki. Their stories of faith and sacrifice serve as inspirations for many.
Additionally, the canonization will also include Marie-Léonie Paradis, Elena Guerra, and Piedmontese Fr. Giuseppe Allamano, founders of significant religious congregations, including the Consolata Missionaries.
Join us in witnessing these momentous events and immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of faith and tradition that will unfold in the heart of the Vatican this October.
