Welcome to Rome: Metro A Renovations and Jubilee Year 2025!
Rome is bustling with excitement as it carries out major renovation works on the Metro A line in preparation for the upcoming Jubilee Year 2025. The Furio Camillo subway station has been temporarily closed for renovation from 19 August to 7 November, prompting commuters to use alternative stations like Ponte Lungo and Colli Albani or take bus lines 590 and 671.
The renovation project was expedited to ensure completion before the anticipated influx of millions of visitors during Jubilee Year. As part of the upgrade, the Ottaviano and Spagna stations are also undergoing facelifts, with reopening dates set for 9 September and 3 October, respectively.
While the A line between Termini and Battistini is closed for maintenance until 25 August, the entire Metro A line continues to close early for ongoing works. The city’s tram lines are currently replaced with buses to facilitate the redevelopment of the Porta Maggiore tram depot.
Despite the inconveniences caused by the renovations, Rome’s public transport network is gearing up to welcome visitors with a revamped and efficient system. Stay tuned for more updates as the city prepares to shine during Jubilee Year 2025!
