Exciting news for television information programs in the upcoming season, as they return gradually from September.
Rai launches a new investigative program by Antonino Monteleone, while Mediaset entrusts the prime time slot to Paolo Del Debbio, with Bianca Berlinguer also hosting on Sundays, competing against Report on Rai3 and Che tempo che fa on Nove.
RAI – Many confirmed shows in prime time: from Sigfrido Ranucci’s “Report,” which starts on Sunday, October 27 at 8:30 pm on Rai3, to Riccardo Iacona’s “PresaDiretta,” the first program to air on Sunday, September 1. Then there’s “Chi l’ha visto?” with Federica Sciarelli, Duilio Giammaria’s “Petrolio” specials, Salvo Sottile’s investigations on “Farwest,” and Peter Gomez’s interviews on “La Confessione.”
Among the new shows is the new investigative talk show on Rai 2 called “L’altra Italia” starting November 7, hosted by Antonino Monteleone. In access, there’s confirmation for “Il cavallo e la torre” on Rai 3 with Marco Damilano, and “Cinque Minuti” with Bruno Vespa on Rai 1, returning to late night from Tuesday to Thursday with “Porta a Porta.” Mondays will feature “Cose Nostre” hosted by Emilia Brandi, “Storie di sera” with Eleonora Daniele, and “XXI Secolo, quando il presente diventa futuro” with Francesco Giorgino. “Tango” with Luisella Costamagna returns to Rai 2’s late night. On Rai 3, Tuesday nights will see “A casa di Maria Latella,” a house talk show covering politics, economy, and culture. Mornings on Rai 3 will feature “Agorà” with Roberto Inciocchi, and on weekends with Sara Mariani. Other highlights include “Restart” with Annalisa Bruchi, and the return of “MixerStoria” with Giovanni Minoli. Sunday afternoons on Rai 3 will have “In Mezz’ora” and “Il Mondo di In Mezz’ora” with Monica Maggioni.
MEDIASET – Rete 4 remains the channel for in-depth coverage. A new addition to the prime time slot starting September will be Paolo Del Debbio instead of Bianca Berlinguer, who will continue hosting on Thursday nights with “Dritto e Rovescio.” Bianca Berlinguer expands her presence with a new investigative program in addition to “È sempre Cartabianca.” Other confirmed shows include “Fuori dal Coro” with Mario Giordano, “Quarta Repubblica” with Nicola Porro, “Zona Bianca” with Giuseppe Brindisi, and “Quarto Grado” with Gianluigi Nuzzi and Alessandra Viero. The documentary “Freedom,” hosted by Roberto Giacobbo, returns with six episodes in the fall and twelve in the spring.
LA7 – Many confirmations and some new shows for the network led by Andrea Salerno, focusing on the news with Enrico Mentana’s TgLa7, who extended the contract until the end of 2026. Returning on September 9 is Lilli Gruber with Otto e Mezzo. Prime time highlights include: Corrado Augias’ “La Torre di Babele” on Mondays, Giovanni Floris’ “DiMartedì” on Tuesdays, Aldo Cazzullo’s “Una Giornata Particolare” on Wednesdays, Corrado Formigli’s “Piazza Pulita” on Thursdays, and Diego Bianchi’s “Propaganda Live” on Fridays. Weekends feature Massimo Gramellini and Roberto Vecchioni with “In Altre Parole.” Alessandro Barbero returns with specials “In Viaggio con Barbero” and a new show, “Barbero Risponde,” in late night. Specials with Ezio Mauro on Lenin and Navalny are also in the works. Daytime shows start on September 9 with “Omnibus” and “Coffe Break.” David Parenzo remains on L’Aria che tira and Tiziana Panella on Tagadà.
SKY TG 24 – Among the new shows is “Materia grigia,” hosted by Fabio Vitale, focusing on opposing ideas with experts following specific rules. Pablo Trincia returns with a podcast and a docuseries dedicated to the Rigopiano tragedy in Abruzzo in 2017. The heart of the network remains news coverage, especially focusing on the upcoming US presidential elections. In-depth analysis, interviews, and investigations will continue even after the November 5 elections.
