Mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and the United States have deemed yesterday’s discussions constructive, following condemnations of a violent attack by settlers in the West Bank.
Shifting our focus to Russia, where two Italian journalists are facing criminal charges for reporting on the Ukrainian offensive in the disputed region of Kurt. The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the journalists are currently in Ukraine, and no official confirmation has been received from Russian authorities.
On the health front, the World Health Organization has warned of potential cases of Monkeypox in Europe, following the first reported case outside of Africa in La Spezia. Danish pharmaceutical company Bavarian Nordic has sought approval to extend the use of their vaccine to adolescents aged 12-17 in response to the resurgence of the disease in Africa.
