In his heartfelt plea for peace, the Holy Father focused on areas such as Ukraine, the Middle East, Palestine, Israel, Sudan, and Myanmar. He urged the faithful to join him in fervent prayer for these regions during the Angelus at St. Peter’s Square.
Reflecting on the solemn anniversary of the atomic bombings at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Pope Francis emphasized the importance of remembering the victims not only of these tragic events but of all wars that have plagued humanity.
Additionally, the Pontiff extended his prayers to the victims of a recent plane crash in Sao Paulo State, Brazil. The aircraft, operated by Voepass, tragically crashed in a residential area, claiming the lives of all 61 individuals on board. Miraculously, there were no casualties reported on the ground.
