An intense fire broke out at a military airport in the Russian region of Lippert, located approximately 300 km from the Ukrainian border. Local news agency Ria Novosti reported the incident on Friday morning, stating that no casualties were reported. The cause of the fire remains unknown, but emergency responders arrived after the regional governor ordered evacuations due to a drone attack near the city of Liberty Lines.
Following the incident, several airlines have suspended flights to Tel Aviv as a precautionary measure. United Airlines has canceled flights to Tel Aviv and is offering customers the option to rebook their flights to any city in Europe or the Middle East. Delta Airlines has also halted flights to New York and Tel Aviv until the end of August.
In other news, a high-speed rail line between Rome and Naples experienced major delays yesterday due to a fire near Corcolle. Firefighters and the Civil Protection agency worked tirelessly to extinguish the blaze with the help of a helicopter.
