Sinner renounces the Olympics
“After a good week of training on the clay court, I started to not feel well,” writes the world number 1 tennis player. “I spent a couple of days resting and when I visited the doctor, he diagnosed tonsillitis and strongly advised against playing. I was looking forward to the honor of representing my country in this very important event. Good luck to all the Italians who I will support from home.”
Paris: Vavassori replaces Sinner, Musetti-Darderi doubles team
It will be Andrea Vavassori replacing Jannik Sinner in the men’s singles tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The withdrawal of the world number 1 player also leads to a change in one of the Italian doubles teams (the other being Bolelli-Vavassori): Luciano Darderi will partner with Lorenzo Musetti. Vavassori will also compete in the mixed doubles tournament, partnering with Sara Errani.
