With heavy hearts, the Archdiocese of Puebla mourns the loss of innocent lives that will be taken. “May God forgive us!” The statement expresses deep sadness and regret as the right to life is violently denied following the recent decriminalization of abortion up to 12 weeks of gestation by the Puebla Congress on July 15.
Despite the challenges faced, the Church remains steadfast in its mission to protect life, emphasizing the sacredness of every unborn child. Through prayer, Mass celebrations, and pastoral efforts, the Church aims to touch the hearts of women considering abortion and promote the value of human life.
The Triumph of Life
The Archdiocese of Puebla will continue its communication campaigns to raise awareness on social media platforms and in parishes, stressing the importance of respecting human life. Family Pastoral Care will focus on educating the youth on love, responsibility, and respect to prevent unwanted pregnancies.
The Youth Ministry will continue educating on healthy relationships and values, while the Social Pastoral focuses on charity and support for the marginalized in society. The Church remains committed to promoting the sanctity of life and strengthening families as a sanctuary.
A Gift from God
Despite the challenges faced, the Church in Puebla remains hopeful that the culture of life will prevail over the culture of death. With the recent decision, Puebla becomes the 14th state in Mexico to legalize abortion up to 12 weeks of gestation, showcasing the ongoing movement to decriminalize abortion in the country.
