
The 2024 Rimini Meeting: A Gathering of Minds and Ideas
Excitement is building as the annual Rimini Meeting approaches, set to take place from 20th to 25th August in the charming Italian town along the Adriatic Sea. This year’s event promises to be a vibrant gathering of religious, political, and cultural figures, with the opening ceremony led by the esteemed Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.
Over 140 conferences featuring approximately 450 Italian and international speakers will be on offer at the 45th edition of this renowned event, titled ‘If we are not after the essence, then what are we after?’ The Rimini Expo Centre will come alive with a plethora of activities including round tables, exhibitions, shows, cultural events, sports, and children’s initiatives, spanning across an impressive 120,000 square meters space.
Highlighting the significance of dialogue as an antidote to hatred, the President of the Meeting Foundation, Bernhard Scholz, emphasized the importance of encounter, dialogue, and confrontation in today’s complex world. The theme of peace will be further explored by distinguished personalities from various fields throughout the event.
Speakers and Exhibitions
Leading figures from the institutional, cultural, academic, and business sectors will grace the stage at the Rimini Meeting. Adrien Candiard, a French Dominican from the Institut dominicain d’études orientales, will deliver a keynote address on Wednesday, 21st August.
With 14 exhibitions and 17 shows scheduled, visitors can immerse themselves in a diverse range of cultural experiences. The involvement of 180 partner companies underscores the growing importance of this event in fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas.
Honoring Peace and Justice
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, stressed the imperative of putting man at the center of peace initiatives, especially amid current global conflicts. The Meeting aims to cultivate sprouts of reconciliation amidst turbulent times, serving as a beacon of hope and unity.
Remembering the legacy of individuals such as Magistrate Rosario Livatino, who epitomized the ideals of justice and public service, the event will pay tribute to those who have contributed significantly to the common good.
