Starting off with the Middle East, the death toll from the massive Israeli raid in the Arma area near the southern border of Gaza has risen to 71, with 289 injured. The Ministry of Health in the stricken strip, managed by Hamas, described the Italian military’s large-scale attacks on a building in the area. Emergency teams are working to reach the site, with displaced individuals finding shelter in tents in the area. The number of casualties could potentially rise.
Moving on to Ukraine, Russian attacks continued overnight, with Ukraine’s Air Force intercepting 4 drones of Iranian origin heading towards the Donetsk region. In Ireland, the Prime Minister met to discuss ongoing support for Ukraine, providing non-lethal aid and assistance in repatriating approximately 20,000 children forcibly transferred to Russia and Belarus.
Back in Italy, a 12-year-old girl from Lazio was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 17-year-old animator while on vacation with her family in a tourist village near Lecce, Salento. The incident was reported to authorities and investigations are ongoing.
Additionally, a man suspected of raping and murdering his partner’s 6-year-old daughter in Normandy, France, has been arrested. The child’s disappearance had triggered an alert system, and the man is currently in custody.
