Welcome to the Celebration of Fiat’s 125th Anniversary!
Fiat Marks Milestone with New Grande Panda
Italian automobile manufacturer Fiat is proud to celebrate its 125th anniversary in Turin by unveiling the new Grande Panda, a modern take on the iconic 1980s model.
The Minister of Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, will grace the event at the Lingotto plant in Turin, the birthplace of Fabbrica Italiana Automobili di Torino (FIAT) on 11 July 1899.
The original Fiat Panda, known for its durability and functional design, captured hearts worldwide when it was introduced in 1980, selling over eight million units.
The new and larger Grande Panda will be presented by John Elkann, the chairman of Stellantis, a multinational automotive corporation that includes Fiat among its 14 prestigious car brands.
Elkann, the great-grandson of Fiat’s founder Giovanni Agnelli, comes from a lineage that played a vital role in establishing Fiat as Italy’s premier car manufacturer.

The iconic Fiat 500, with over 7.5 million units sold worldwide since its introduction in 1957, remains one of Fiat’s most famous creations.
Gianni Agnelli, a significant figure in Fiat’s history and the grandson of the founder, led Fiat as chairman from 1966 to 1996, overseeing its global expansion.
Another notable name in Fiat’s legacy is Sergio Marchionne, who took over as CEO in 2004 and successfully revamped the company by focusing on markets and profitability.
Following a merger with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in 2014, Fiat became a subsidiary of Stellantis through its division in Europe in 2021.
