Today, the General Assembly of Utilitalia confirmed Filippo Brandolini as the president of the Federation, which represents 400 public service companies in the water, environment, and energy sectors. Luca Dal Fabbro (Iren) was also reconfirmed as the vice president. This was announced in a press release. Brandolini, who took over the presidency from Michaela Castelli last year, has over twenty years of experience in local public services and environmental policies, with a focus on waste management.
Since 2009, he has been the president of Herambiente Spa, a leading Italian waste treatment company controlled by the Hera Group. From 2014 to 2015, he served as the president of Federambiente and led the merger with Federutility to form Utilitalia. Since 2010, he has been the executive vice president of SGI Europe, a European association representing companies providing general interest services.
Dal Fabbro, the president of Iren, has extensive international managerial experience in the industrial, financial, energy, and sustainability sectors. He has held various positions such as president of Snam, CEO of Enel Energia and E.On Italia, and board member of Terna.
Utilitalia is the Federation that brings together companies in the public water, environment, electricity, and gas sectors in Italy, representing them at national and European institutions. The 400 companies associated with Utilitalia currently provide water services to about 80% of the population, environmental services to about 55%, gas distribution to 27%, and electricity services to 10%, with a production value of 38.5 billion euros and one hundred thousand employees.
