As the Youth Congress in the Archdiocese of Accra drew to a close, a powerful message resonated through the gathering – the call to be instruments of hope and leave enduring legacies in their communities.
At the heart of the Congress, Auxiliary Bishop Anthony Narh Asare delivered a stirring keynote address, highlighting the significance of unity in diversity and the transformative impact of dedicated service to the Church.
Embrace Your Role, Leave a Legacy
Bishop Asare urged the youth to take inspiration from the Apostle Peter and Paul, encouraging them to embody the theme of ‘Present and Connected’ as they embark on their journey to leave a lasting impact in their parishes and stations.
The Youth Congress, themed “Present and Connected,” provided a platform for young delegates to engage in listening sessions and open discussions, fostering a synodal experience and empowering them to contribute to the Church’s growth in Accra.
The event commenced with a solemn Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop John Bonaventure Kwofie and his auxiliaries, setting a tone of reverence and dedication for the Congress.
Stay Connected, Serve Others
The theme of being ‘Connected to Jesus, Present to Others’ reverberated throughout the Congress, with delegates delving into topics such as youth leadership empowerment and understanding diverse perspectives within the Catholic community.
The event also featured colorful processions, moments of interaction, and opportunities for confession and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, enriching the spiritual experience of the youth participants.
The focus on youth and children in the Church aligns with Archbishop Kwofie’s vision for the Archdiocese, emphasizing the importance of spiritual growth and development among young members. This approach also echoes Pope Francis’s call for a more participatory and responsive Church, in line with the Synod on Synodality initiative.
