Recently, President Joe Biden admitted his mistakes during a fundraiser in Virginia. He explained how his recent international travels around the world, spanning multiple time zones, took a toll on him. Having traveled to France, Italy, and Los Angeles before the debate, Biden blamed his poor performance on the jet lag and lack of rest. “I wasn’t smart. I decided to travel around the world a few times right before the debate, through I don’t know how many time zones, at least 15… I didn’t listen to my staff… And then I almost fell asleep on stage,” Biden confessed to the donors.
Biden should step down, says former Obama minister
Julian Castro, former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Obama administration and a past presidential candidate who challenged Joe Biden in 2020, suggested that the American President should step down. Castro criticized Biden’s age and memory, and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as a potential replacement at the top of the Democratic list. In an interview with Msnbc, Castro stated that another Democratic candidate would have a better chance of beating Trump. “Yes, I think Democrats would do well to find a different candidate,” he said, mentioning Harris as a suitable contender.
‘I’ve long predicted that Trump will win,’ admits Democratic congressman
Adding to the chorus of criticisms against Biden, Democratic congressman Jared Golden, known for his centrist views, foresees his party losing the White House in the upcoming election. “Even though I don’t intend to vote for him, Donald Trump will win,” Golden wrote in an editorial for the Bangor Daily News in Maine. He expressed his lack of surprise at the outcome of the 2024 elections, stating, “Unlike Biden and many others, I refuse to engage in a campaign that scares voters with the idea that Trump will end our democratic system.”
