As summer approaches, Pope Francis prepares to take his annual July break from most of his activities, a tradition he upholds every year. The Prefecture of the Papal Household confirmed this temporary halt in a statement released on Friday.
During the month of July, the Holy Father will take a well-deserved rest, suspending General Audiences and most of his engagements. However, he will continue to deliver his uplifting Sunday Angelus addresses to the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square, maintaining this important connection with the people.
Mark your calendars, as the Pope’s General Audience is set to resume on Wednesday, 7 August. The August audiences may be relocated to the Vatican’s Paul VI Hall to escape the scorching heat of Rome during the summer.
Looking ahead, September promises to be a busy month for Pope Francis, with two Apostolic Journeys lined up. First, he will travel to Asia and Oceania from 2-13 Sept., followed by another trip to Belgium and Luxembourg from 26-29 Sept. These journeys will further strengthen his bonds with believers across the globe.
Let us join in wishing Pope Francis a restful and rejuvenating July, as he prepares to embark on his mission of spreading love, compassion, and hope to all corners of the world.
