Get ready to embark on a new journey of knowledge with Alberto Angela as he unveils the latest discoveries about dinosaurs covered in feathers, the secrets of restorers’ trade, the daily life of ancient Romans, and the behind-the-scenes of films like Star Wars or Indiana Jones. Noos – The Adventure of Knowledge, a seven-episode series on Rai Cultura, will premiere on June 27 at 9:25 PM on Rai1. Dive into the world of science and modern discoveries following the path of the ship, Noos, which means ‘intellect’ in Ancient Greek, inspired by Piero Angela’s program ‘Viaggio nel Cosmo’.
“Let’s set sail once again with the favorable winds that accompanied us last year, from the audience’s appreciation to the team’s enthusiasm. It’s great to work together on the same wavelength,” says Angela, fresh from the extraordinary special on Pompeii and the standing ovation at the Arena di Verona during the UNESCO heritage opera night.
The core of the program this year will explore the latest advancements in medicine, genetics, neuroscience, biology, archaeology, paleontology, and technological, energy, and environmental innovations. Topics will range from nutrition, shedding light on the surprising calorie count of a ‘harmless’ margherita pizza, to sexuality. Documentaries on nature will be featured with a strong emphasis on quality. Geopolitics will also take center stage as it’s crucial to understanding global trends and industrial or technological decisions.
Guests like Dario Fabbri and Carlo Lucarelli will provide insights on geopolitics and scientific mysteries. Experts like Massimo Polidoro, Elisabetta Bernardi, and Emmanuele Jannini will weigh in on fake news, nutrition, and sexuality, respectively. Philosopher of science Telmo Pievani will delve into the planet’s history and evolution through a weekly word analysis. Samantha Cristoforetti will return to Noos’ immersive studio to discuss upcoming space challenges. Young scholars from various scientific fields will join in the discussions, supporting Angela in the quest against ignorance.
This season, Paola Cortellesi will lend her voice to an animated character narrating the story and evolution of writing, while Gabriel Zuchtriegel, director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park, will introduce discussions on taboos, social norms, and everyday life in ancient times. A special segment will focus on Angela’s passion for dinosaurs, featuring a paleontologist to captivate the curiosity of both children and adults, exploring myths, new discoveries, and the Jurassic world.
