Pope Francis to Canonize 15 Blesseds in Ordinary Public Consistory
Exciting news in the world of sainthood as Pope Francis is set to preside over an Ordinary Public Consistory on July 1, where Cardinals in Rome will give the final approval for the canonization of 15 Blesseds.

One of the candidates for sainthood is Emanuele Ruiz and his companions, who were martyred in Syria almost 100 years ago during a Druze uprising against Christians. These martyrs, including brothers Francesco, Abdel-Mooti, and Raffaele Massabki, are on the verge of being declared saints after being beatified by Pope Pius XI.
The Consistory on July 1 will also include deliberation on the causes of three founders of religious orders and the famous Bd Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old web designer set to become the first millennial saint.
Carlo Acutis, born in 1991, was known for his devotion to Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions. His relics can be visited in Assisi, the city of St. Francis, whom Carlo had a deep affection for.
Founders of Religious Orders Up for Sainthood
Among the founders of religious orders being considered for sainthood are Father Giuseppe Allamano, Elena Guerra, and Marie-Léonie Paradis. Father Giuseppe Allamano established the Consolata Missionaries while Elena Guerra founded the Oblates of the Holy Spirit. Marie-Léonie Paradis, born in Quebec, founded the Little Sisters of the Holy Family.
The Consistory Decision
During the Ordinary Public Consistory, the resident Cardinals in Rome will formally vote on the candidates for sainthood. While the ceremony is more of a formality, the approval from the Cardinals is crucial for the official announcement of the canonization dates.
