Welcome to the Romadailynews blog!
Good evening from the editorial office, I’m Giuliano Ferrigno. In today’s headlines, we have the visit of President Sergio Mattarella to Moldova, just a few kilometers from where we are. As we know, the brutal war of aggression unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine is raging nearby. During his meeting in Chisinau with President Maia Sandu, Mattarella reiterated Italy’s support for the integrity and independence of Ukraine.
The President also highlighted the constant attempts of Russian influence and disinformation, particularly during election periods. This spread of fake news and misinformation is a threat not only to Ukraine but also to Italy itself.
Meanwhile, on the international stage, Vladimir Putin is preparing to meet Kim Jong-un in North Korea, marking his first visit to the country in 24 years.
Turning back to Italy, inspections are underway in 70 private secondary schools in the regions of Campania, Lazio, and Sicily. The Ministry of Education is cracking down on schools that do not adhere to regulations, particularly those that easily grant high school diplomas without proper oversight.
As students across Italy gear up for their exams, a heatwave is set to hit the country. The African anticyclone, Minosse, will bring record temperatures to the north, center, and south. The Ministry of Health has issued yellow and orange alerts for several cities, with temperatures expected to reach as high as 38 degrees in some areas.
Stay tuned with Romadailynews for further updates. Thank you for reading and remember to stay cool during this scorching heatwave!
