The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, had a meeting today with the President of the World Bank Group, Ajay Banga, in the margins of the G7 Summit.
The exchange of views focused on prospects for collaboration, with particular reference to the synergies with Italy’s Mattei Plan for Africa, as emerged during the side event on the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment (PGII), which President Banga also attended.
At the end of the meeting, President Meloni and President Banga adopted a statement of intent that provides a framework for co-design and co-financing initiatives in the action areas that are a priority for both the Mattei Plan and the World Bank Group.
