The Summit of the G7 Heads of State and Government is coming to a close today in Italy’s Apulia Region.
Day three of the Summit is dedicated to bilateral meetings and, at 2pm, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, will hold a closing press conference.
On Thursday 13 June, after the welcome ceremony and family photo, various working sessions were held, including discussions on ‘Africa, Climate Change and Development’, ‘Middle East’ and ‘Ukraine’. The evening concluded with an official dinner hosted by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at the Swabian Castle of Brindisi.
Friday 14 June saw discussions on ‘Migration’ and ‘Indo-Pacific and Economic Security’, followed by a meeting with Pope Francis and other world leaders to address topics like ‘Artificial Intelligence’, ‘Energy’ and ‘Africa-Mediterranean’. President Meloni also engaged in bilateral meetings with leaders from the US, India, and Japan. The Summit wrapped up with the adoption of the Apulia G7 Leaders’ Communiqué.
