Over 300 bright-eyed children in the vibrant Archdiocese of Beira are starting off their school year on the right foot thanks to a generous donation of basic school supplies. This heartwarming initiative was made possible by dedicated lay people associated with the Divine Word Missionaries as part of the impactful “June Solidarity Initiatives.”

In Mozambique, the month of June holds a special place for various solidarity initiatives that shed light on important children’s issues. These initiatives, known as the June Solidarity Initiatives, aim to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth.
According to Father Eduardo Rando, a Divine Word Missionary based in Beira, the recent supply donation was a touching display of compassion and care for the children in need. The initiative was not only a way to support the children but also to inspire others to give selflessly without expecting anything in return.
Prior to distributing the much-needed school supplies, including folders, exercise books, pens, rulers, and pencils, the laypeople and children came together to celebrate the Eucharist in a spirit of unity and gratitude.
