Welcome to Romadaily News Radio News!
We are back with the latest updates for you this afternoon. I’m Giuliano Ferrigno, and here are the headlines:
Israeli forces have announced the liberation of 4 hostages who were abducted during the Rave on October 7th, including Hargo Mani. The emotional video of a girl being taken away on a motorcycle by a militant went viral, and Minister Beni Guns canceled his press conference scheduled for tonight, where he was expected to announce his resignation. This comes after the ultimatum given to Prime Minister Netanyahu last month to come up with a post-war plan for Gaza.
In other news, an Israeli airstrike killed 4 people and injured 14 in Gaza, while northern Israel was targeted by drone raids from Iranian-backed militias. Meanwhile, in Paris, Joe Biden is on a state visit with President Macron, discussing various international issues, including the crisis in Ukraine and economic cooperation.
As for elections, polling stations have opened in Italy for the European Parliament elections, with voting hours extended until 23:00. Tomorrow, the 9th of June, voting will take place across the country, with the outcome uncertain due to voter turnout.
Lastly, in Campania, there have been five consecutive earthquake tremors in the Campi Flegrei area, causing concern but no reported damage so far. The region is known for its bradyseism, a phenomenon of ground uplift due to volcanic activity.
