On the day of the Allied landings in Normandy, Western leaders gathered around Ukrainian President Zelensky, who was welcomed with applause at Omaha Beach. “We will not abandon Kyiv,” stated Biden and Macron.
France sends the Mirages
French President Macron announced the deployment of Mirage fighters, training for pilots, and a brigade of 4500 Ukrainian soldiers equipped and supported by France, signing two agreements worth 650 million euros in loans and aid to Ukraine.
US support
US President Biden, who will meet Zelensky in Paris today, stated in an interview with ABC that “Ukraine can use American weapons to strike Russia, but only up to 200 miles from the border. Not in Moscow.” Additionally, the US is preparing to send a new military aid package of $225 million to Ukraine. Russia denounced Biden’s words as cynical and obscene, promising an appropriate response.
Ukraine and Russia Raids
Another night of missile attacks by Moscow hit various regions of Western Ukraine and the capital Kyiv.
At the moment, there are no reported casualties, but two women were injured in the city of Nikopol. At least 22 injured in an attack by Ukrainian forces with missiles on the Luhansk region controlled by the Russians.
