This visit, lasting less than five hours, will mark the conclusion of the Social Week of Catholics in Italy, a significant event organized by the Italian Episcopal Conference to delve into the Christian social message and guide believers in the realm of work.
The Exciting Arrival
Get ready as Pope Francis lands in Trieste after departing from the Vatican heliport at 6:30 a.m. The Pontiff will be welcomed at the “Generali Convention Center” at 8:00 a.m. by notable figures such as Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi and Monsignor Luigi Renna. The President of the Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, the Prefect of Trieste, Pietro Signoriello, Mayor Roberto Dipiazza, and Philippe Donnet, CEO of «Generali», will also be in attendance for this momentous occasion.
An Inspirational Speech at the Congress Center
Join us for a meeting with conference participants at the Center, where after warm welcomes, Cardinal Zuppi and Monsignor Renna will introduce the Pope for his much-anticipated speech. The Pope will then have the opportunity to briefly meet with various groups before heading to Piazza Unità d’Italia.
A Memorable Mass at Piazza Unità d’Italia
At 10:00 a.m., hop on an open car journey with Pope Francis from the Congress Center to Piazza Unità d’Italia, where a Eucharist celebration is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., followed by the recitation of the Angelus. Before bidding farewell, Bishop Trevisi will lead a special moment of thanksgiving at 12:30 p.m.
Don’t miss the spectacular takeoff from the Molo Audace in Trieste at 12:30 p.m., with a grand landing back at the Vatican heliport at 2:00 p.m.
