Opera Extravaganza: Celebrating Italy’s UNESCO Honor at the Verona Arena
Get ready for a night of magical melodies and enchanting performances as Italy honors the art of opera singing being added to UNESCO’s list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The historic Verona Arena will be the stage for a gala concert featuring some of the world’s most renowned opera stars including Anna Netrebko, Jonas Kaufmann, Eleonora Buratto, and phenomenal dancers Roberto Bolle and Nicoletta Manni.
Under the baton of maestro Riccardo Muti, 160 orchestra musicians and over 300 choristers will come together to showcase iconic arias from operas like Guglielmo Tell, Norma, Nabucco, and more.
But the evening doesn’t stop there. Famous pieces by Italian composers such as Puccini, Rossini, Bellini, Verdi, and many others will also grace the stage, filling the ancient Roman amphitheater with timeless music.
This star-studded event at the Verona Arena, renowned as the largest open-air theater globally, will be broadcast live by RAI starting at 20:30, ensuring that audiences worldwide can partake in this cultural celebration.
