Welcome Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher to Croatia!
Greetings to all our readers! We are thrilled to announce that Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Vatican Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, has embarked on a three-day visit to Croatia starting from May 30th. This visit comes on the occasion of the feast of Our Lady of the Stone Gate, the patron saint of Croatia’s capital.
During his visit, Archbishop Gallagher is scheduled to have several significant meetings. He will meet with Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić-Radman. Additionally, he will be attending the grand opening of the Croatian Catholic University Library, where he will also deliver a lecture to inspire and enlighten.
The highlight of his visit will be the celebration of the Eucharist at Zagreb Cathedral for the feast of Our Lady of the Stone Gate. This special event will be graced by the presence of Croatian bishops, adding to the spiritual significance of the occasion.
Mass for Statehood Day
Prior to his visit to Croatia, Archbishop Gallagher presided over a Mass for Croatia’s Statehood Day at the Church of St. Jerome in Rome on May 28th. During the Mass, he emphasized the resilient relationship between Croatia and the Holy See despite historical conflicts. Archbishop Gallagher also urged the faithful to pray for nations facing conflicts and wars while expressing gratitude for the gift of freedom and peace in Croatia.
