Discover the Magic of the 21st Rome Chamber Music Festival at Teatro Argentina
The Rome Chamber Music Festival is a cultural gem that music enthusiasts eagerly anticipate each year. Established in 2003 by Robert McDuffie, this year marks its 21st edition at Rome’s Teatro Argentina.
For four enchanting days, forty-two talented musicians from across the globe, both established artists and rising stars, will come together under the guidance of the festival’s founder and artistic director, American violinist Robert McDuffie.
Robert McDuffie, an acclaimed international musician, harbors a deep love affair with the city of Rome, having resided there for a significant period before giving birth to the Rome Chamber Music Festival. The festival pays homage to the rich musical heritage of Rome, nestled in the historic 18th-century Teatro Argentina, which was once a renowned musical hub where illustrious debuts from artists like Rossini to Verdi took place.
The festival’s program reflects McDuffie’s modern and diverse vision, exploring a range of genres from Baroque to the modern sounds of Måneskin.

The festival kicks off with a captivating lineup including André Gagnon’s “Petit Concerto Pour Garignan,” O’Connor’s “Appalachian Waltz,” Vivaldi, and the enchanting string sextet transcription of Philip Glass‘s Symphony No. 3, choreographed by the talented Ricky Bonavita.
The second day embraces a romantic repertoire with pieces by Schumann and Brahms, graced by the presence of esteemed maestros Andrea Lucchesini and Enrico Dindo.

The third concert pays tribute to Dvořák with his “Dumky Trio” on the 120th anniversary of his passing, featuring talented musicians Saeeb Diab, Hadar Zeidel, and the exceptional violinist Rachel Ellen Wang. The evening also ventures into early music with pieces by Tartini, Porpora, and Vivaldi.
The grand finale on June 20th is an unforgettable experience with Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring Suite” and the Italian premiere of “Måneskin and more” led by McDuffie and a plethora of new talents.
This festival offers a refreshing departure from conventional Italian programming by showcasing rare repertoires and uniting emerging talents with seasoned masters.
