Embracing the Jubilee Year 2025
The Apostolic Nuncio to Cote d’Ivoire, Archbishop Mauricio Rueda Beltz, led the opening Mass and encouraged the major superiors to set an example by following Christ.
On the Feast of the Ascension, Pope Francis officially announced the start and end dates, as well as the forms of celebration for the Jubilee Year 2025 in a decree known as the “Bull of Indiction”. The Jubilee Year will commence on 24 December 2024 at St. Peter’s Basilica and conclude on 6 January 2026.
Staying Connected to Christ
In his address to the major superiors, Archbishop Beltz emphasized the importance of staying united with Christ, being open to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and fostering unity.
He urged them to deepen their connection with Jesus, likening it to branches intertwined with the vine. The Archbishop also stressed the need to be receptive to the Holy Spirit’s direction and to carry out God’s will above all else.
Building Relationships in Communion
Archbishop Beltz called on the major superiors to emulate the Father’s actions and allow the Holy Spirit to lead them. He highlighted the unique role of major superiors in fostering communion within their communities and showcasing the love of the Risen Christ through their relationships with others.
As the Jubilee Year 2025 approaches, the major superiors in Cote d’Ivoire are gearing up to embrace this significant milestone with faith and commitment, reaffirming their dedication to their vocation and their mission to spread love and unity in the spirit of Christ.
