All about the 18th edition of the Rome Film Fest
The 18th edition of Festa del Cinema, Rome’s annual famed film festival, kicks off on October 18 and runs until October 29. The main event will be held at the iconic Auditorium Parco della Musica, transformed for the occasion with a sprawling red carpet. However, the festival will also extend to other evocative locations in the capital, such as MAXXI and Casa del Cinema.

Anna Magnani is the protagonist of the official image of the eighteenth edition of the Rome Film Festival, paying homage to one of the greatest and most beloved actresses of Italian and international cinema who passed away fifty years ago.
Isabella Rossellini and Shigeru Umebayashi will be honored with the Career Achievement Award and will interact with the festival audience. Isabella Rossellini, a versatile and unconventional artist, will be celebrated for her creative talent through a public meeting and a retrospective of her works as a filmmaker, screenwriter, and actress. Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi will also be featured in a public meeting, offering festivalgoers the chance to rediscover cult films such as ‘In the Mood for Love.’

The festival will take over various locations in Rome, including Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, Casa del Cinema, MAXXI, and more. The official selection of the Rome Film Festival 2023 includes different sections showcasing a diverse range of cinema.
- Progressive Cinema – Visioni per il Mondo di Domani (Visions for the World of Tomorrow): Featuring an international competition judged by experts awarding categories like Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, and more.

Opening Film
The festival will kick off with the film “C’È ANCORA DOMANI” directed by Paola Cortellesi, set in post-war Italy and featuring a captivating story against the backdrop of 1940s Rome.
