Transport yourself from the lush landscapes of the Brazilian Amazon to the touching Australian sky to the stark reality of drought-stricken Bangladesh through the lens of the “Changes” photo exhibition. Curated by Lia and Marianna Beltrami, in collaboration with the Dicastery for Communication, the exhibit showcases 24 powerful shots capturing the essence of change and resilience.
The project, “Emotions to generate change,” takes inspiration from Pope Francis’ encyclicals, urging us to use art as a tool for transformation. Photographers from around the globe, who have experienced their own trials and tribulations, beautifully capture the essence of change in their work.
The grand inauguration ceremony at St. Peter’s Square was a testament to the power of art in provoking change. Paolo Ruffini, the prefect of the Dicastery for Communication, emphasized how these photos challenge us to see beyond the surface, to feel deeply, and to aspire for a better world.
The conference brought together a diverse group of individuals, from curators to artists, journalists, and filmmakers, all united by a common goal: to create positive change through their work. It was a celebration of passion, beauty, and the transformative power of art.
As the discussions unfolded, guests shared their unique perspectives on the role of art in society. From the importance of storytelling to the impact of artificial intelligence, each speaker brought a fresh insight into the connection between art and social change.
At the heart of it all was a profound message: art has the power to move, to inspire, and to change the world. As psychologist Daniele Marchesi eloquently stated, “You have the ability to create excitement, to change the world’s view. Let yourselves be moved, recognize what you are feeling and convey it, and you will change everything.”
